NESS Cares Non-Profit Internship Cohort 1 - Starting January 2025

NESS Cares, the non-profit arm of NESS Behavior Consulting, is dedicated to providing resources for mental health and special education needs. We are seeking passionate and dedicated interns to join our upcoming cohort starting in January 2025. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the non-profit sector while making a real difference in the lives of children with autism and their families.

  • Duration: 3-month cohort (starting January 2025)

  • Compensation: College Credit (requires a university/college agreement signed and approved by our HR department before the internship starts)

  • Schedule: Flexible schedule to accommodate classes, with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week.

  • Location: NESS Behavior Consulting office in Hicksville, NY.

responsibilities:
  • Grant Research and Writing:

    • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with our mission to provide resources for mental health and special education.

    • Assist with writing grant proposals, including gathering data, developing budgets, and crafting compelling narratives.

  • Social Media Development:

    • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase awareness of NESS Cares and its mission to provide resources for mental health and special education.

    • Create engaging content for social media platforms, including posts, stories, and videos that highlight our services and impact.

    • Monitor social media channels and engage with followers.

  • Fundraising Event Support:

    • Assist with the planning and coordination of fundraising events to support our mental health and special education programs.

    • Participate in events and provide on-site support.

  • Funder and Sponsor Outreach:

    • Research and identify potential individual donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners who are passionate about mental health and special education.

    • Assist with developing outreach materials and communication strategies.

qualifications:
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Associate's degree program in Non-Profit Management, Public Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.

  • Passion for the NESS Cares mission and a commitment to serving children with autism and their families.
